It looks awesome, but that stinks that NAME isn't giving it to All Star, or Astro. Why wouldn't they? Maybe, it's not that good, or it breaks alot.

The dilemma I have though besides maybe this ride is broke a lot is that Skinner's has carnivals farther away, and I get really disappointed when I want to see a ride at a carnival, and it's not there. Skinner's looks to have multiple units just like many other carnivals around, so it's not a guaranteed ride at Skinner's carnival.

Why couldn't Spectacular, Windy City, All Star, or Alpine get this ride? Oh well.

However, the thing is that all those carnivals have a lot more than one unit out at a time for the most part. NAME might have 4 units in IL, or WI out. Even so though I rather see Astro get rid of that Orbiter, and get this Remix instead. In my opinion, I just don't like that Orbiter. It's not the speed, but I think it's the tilting. They had a great tilting Orbiter, and than something happened to it, so they got this one, and I just don't care for it like the old one.

For Spectacular, the Music Fest to me is the thrilling ride. To me, they need something else. To me, it's not to say that the Cliffhanger, Tilt-A-Whirl, and Bumper Cars aren't fun, but to me that Super Shot ride isn't cutting it. At night (which is the more thrills crowd), the Music Fest was packed, but the Super Shot or whatever they call it, was empty. The problem is that they just bought the Super Shot, and you need to get some money from it before it's viable to sell it.

With carnivals, you have to play both sides. You have a lot more kids during the day, and at night, you have a lot more teens that want more thrilling rides. The thing is during the day is let's say your carnival opens at 1 pm - 6 pm, and than you get the night teens from 6 pm - 11 pm. For each, it's 5 hours. On Sunday, you get 1 less hour for the teens because they usually close at 10 pm. However, for the Thursday night and Friday night (It's not open during the day.), it should be more teens that would go on the rides, so than you think there would be a little more teenage rides than gentle rides.

The only problem is usually teen rides cost more money like a Orbiter, Spin Out than a Tilt-A-Whirl, or a smaller Ferris Wheel. I do think a Tilt-A-Whirl is thrilling, but to me it's going to appeal more to kids than a teen. In my opinion, a carnival does do need both kids, and teen rides, but to me a carnival needs a little more of teen rides than kids.

I think these carnival companies should have looked at Windy City's getting rid of that ride in what 2 years before buying one. To me, that ride is okay, but is it worth the $4 for that short of a ride, and on top of that, you have the amusement park with a much taller ride than that competing with a smaller drop ride. Plus, for a spectacular ride, you usually get the strobe lights, a what feels like a longer ride, cop lights on some rides like Music Fest, more lighting on the ride, the voicebox, the music, and maybe fog for your money whereas that ride (Super Shot), you don't get that.

You make some good points but I think you are confusing the two a little. I would not consider any of the rides you listed to be spectaculars including the remix. They are majors and everyone has the same rides. It's one of the problems in this area. Every show carries the same stuff for the most part. A Chance Giant Wheel, Mega Drop, Space Roller, and any 2 + trailer himy are all spectaculars in my eyes. They all consist of more then one trailer and dwarf all the other equipment on the midway.
There are other examples but you get the idea. The stuff that is around Chicago you can see at any given church or parking lot fest anywhere. There are no spectaculars in our area anymore. The reasons are simple space, overhead and revenue. Those types of rides take a great deal of man power to move, operate and maintain. They also need to be running at capacity in order to be profitable that's why you only see them at the big fairs and not sitting in a parking lot.

I wish Skinners good luck with that ride. I think they are going to have Mike McDaniel on speed dial. Good for Mike not so good for them. I hope they don't have any problems. If the stories I have heard about the electronics are true I would bet it won't be on the show for more then one season.

Cool looking ride. You're right Pat, everyone around here seems to have the same equipment, for the most part. There are alot of rides that could be on the midways, but arent. It seemed like shows were a little more original in the 70's & 80's. Every show was different. You defitnatley knew who was in town when you saw the line up. It's not like that now.
